Provide Further Input for Wellington's New Arts Centre

Next step?
Help us plan a new Wellington arts centre

Below is information about the next meeting to guide and shape Wellington's new arts centre plan. If you are an individual artist or creative practitioner, and would like to complete the questionnaire provided at Thursday's meeting, please see the attached Word file. Oplete and return this to Allan Prangnell, Senior Policy Analyst, Wellington City Council or forward by email to artscubator@wcc.govt.nz

You may also submit narratives or essay-form statements about your work, studio needs, resources, or anything you might think is important for the development of a new arts centre.

If you are engaged in community arts activities, courses, workshops, open studios, or public programmes designed for the general public, then consider attending the next arts centre meeting:

Community arts groups
10am to noon
Wednesday 5 May
Square Affair Suite
(1st floor of the Old Town Hall)

It?s envisaged that this facility will be multi-purpose, and a melting pot for all kinds of artists, craftspeople, arts groups and organisations. It could include office space for arts organisations, workshops and course offerings, studios, rehearsal space, recording facilities and specialist arts equipment. Public facilities like a caf?, performance space, information hub and a small gallery are other possibilities.

The Council needs your input to decide the mix of facilities and then develop a business plan around identified needs and functions.
